SMAUG’s Reflections from the Enforce Tac Exhibition
Enforce Tac – Law Enforcement and Defence trade fair, held in Nürnberg, Germany, from February 24th to 26th, 2025, provided SMAUG the opportunity to attract the attention of various industry professionals and authorities.
Represented by its partner, Maritime Robotics, who displayed a harbor security system based on a USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) running autonomously in Trondheim while the USV and sensors were controlled from the show in Nuremberg, Germany. This sparked a lot of interest, showing the capability of operating the entire day with a low profile in the harbor, while performing ad-hoc inspections of the different areas while demonstrating the system.
During discussions with harbor authorities and law enforcement, the SMAUG project was prominently highlighted, emphasising its capabilities and the exciting possibilities that emerge from integrating these technologies. Several follow-up contacts were planned to provide updates about the project’s objectives and technological updates.
Participants expressed great interest in over-water surveillance, whereas they were also intrigued by the sonar scanning and ROV capabilities integrated into the SMAUG project.
