SMAUG at the WATERBORNE Days 2025

The SMAUG project participated in WATERBORNE Days 2025 in Brussels on February 4 and 5, 2025.

WATERBORNE has been set up as an industry-oriented Technology Platform to establish a continuous dialogue between all waterborne stakeholders, such as classification societies, shipbuilders, shipowners, maritime equipment manufacturers, infrastructure and service providers, universities or research institutes, and with the EU Institutions, including Member States.

The WATERBORNE Days Conference highlighted the commitment of the different segments of the waterborne sector and the key role of research, development, innovation and the deployment of innovation to jointly shape the future.

During this two-day event, leaders from the waterborne sector, along with representatives from various European Commission Services, EU Member States, and Horizon Europe-associated countries, gathered to promote innovation and deployment, tackling the challenges and opportunities presented by the green and digital transition.

In this regard, SMAUG partners, Maria Boile and Christos Nedeloglou from the Quantitative Analysis in Shipping Laboratory, UniPi, represented the SMAUG project and participated in the interactive event over the two days spreading the word about the project’s aims, results and recent updates.
