SMAUG at the Projects to Policy Seminar (PPS)
Each year, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) and the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) jointly host the Projects to Policy Seminar (PPS). This event brings together coordinators of newly launched civil security research projects, fostering dialogue between research initiatives and policymakers to enhance Europe’s security landscape.
The 2024 seminar edition took place on June 25–26 in Brussels, serving as a platform to showcase innovative projects in the field. The project’s coordinator, Juan-Román Martínez Arranz from Indra and consortium member Francisco José Pérez Carrasco from FAVIT, represented the SMAUG project. They both delivered an engaging presentation outlining SMAUG’s goals and objectives and anticipated impact on port security and the maritime environment.
It was an excellent opportunity to spread the word about the project and set the path for future collaboration with relevant EU projects.
