SMAUG at the 48th Scandinavian Symposium on Physical Acoustics

The SMAUG project, represented by the University of South Norway (USN), participated in the 48th Scandinavian Symposium on Physical Acoustics, held from January 26–29, 2025, in Geilo, Norway.

Over the course of the three-day event, a total of 33 presentations were delivered, covering a diverse range of topics including underwater acoustics, ultrasound imaging, acoustic non-destructive testing, transducer technology, geoacoustics.

SMAUG partners from USN presented their advancements in automatic target detection using hydrophone data.

Their presentation highlighted promising preliminary results obtained through controlled environment tests and real-world simulations.

The 49th edition of the symposium is scheduled for February 1–4, 2026 and the SMAUG project will strive to be part once again!
