SMAUG joined forces with the PQ-REACT project for a joint webinar on Tuesday 5th of May 2026 addressing one of the most pressing challenges for European security: the quantum threat to critical infrastructure.
As quantum computing continues to advance at pace, the security frameworks protecting critical infrastructure, digital services, and law enforcement operations must evolve to keep up. The webinar took a deep dive into the cybersecurity challenges facing critical infrastructure, including the maritime environment, with a particular focus on the implications of quantum computing for existing and future security architectures.
The key presenters, the two project coordinators, Akis Kourtis from PQ-REACT and Juan-Román Martínez Arranz from SMAUG explored key questions around quantum-resilient security design for critical systems, offering valuable insights for professionals working in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, law enforcement and more.
